National Competitions Update

November 18, 2025

A mixed set of results over the last 2 weeks in our National competitions.

We started off our double header weekend against Huntingdon on Saturday 8th November in the U30 Double Rink. The away team got off the marks straight away and stormed ahead with a 25-5 win. It was nip and tuck at the home venue, but Huntingdon just snuck the win 16-19. However it wasn’t enough to see them through to the next round, with St Neots taking the overall 41-24. They now play Wellingborough on Sunday 23rd November.

On the Sunday, we faced Huntingdon once again, but this time in the Mixed Top Club. It was a thrilling encounter, with each side taking a 21-20 win in the singles and close scores on the remaining 3 rinks, it all came down to the final few ends. St Neots held their nerve brilliantly, winning the pairs, triples and fours and securing a 14-2 overall victory. The team will be away to Northampton in the next round on Sunday 7th December.

The Mason Trophy came next on Friday 14th November v City of Ely. Both teams were well matched all game, but St Neots just ran away with the win the last few ends, winning 18-14 at home and 19-13 away, securing their spot in the next round against Huntingdon ‘A’ on Friday 5th December.

However, the winning streak came to an end last weekend with losses in both the Yetton Trophy and Egham Trophy, against our local rivals, Huntingdon. The games were very tight, but Huntingdon grabbed the lead at the start and kept a hold of it till the end of each game respectively. We wish them the best of luck in the next rounds.
Yetton Trophy result – 69-80
Egham Trophy result – 65-80
